Godzilla on the Walls of Lucca

Godzilla advances beyond the Walls and looms over the city. His scales are built up from thousands of tiny marks made with the red-hot tip, his dorsal plates cut sharply against the sky and his claws stretch toward the rooftops. Before him stand the Guinigi Tower, the Cathedral bell tower and the Clock Tower: small and still, held within the city walls. Broad shafts of light cut diagonally across the panel and set the scene in motion. The city’s name sits inside a scroll, like an inscription on old parchment.
