Valentina Damiano was born in Pisa in 1989. She developed a passion for drawing in early childhood and trained at the F. Russoli State Art Institute in Pisa, specializing in painting and Ex-Libris engraving. She later deepened her skills in life drawing and traditional painting under Professor Adriano Bimbi at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.

Her research intertwines classical glazing with scratches and engraved marks, viewing plants and trees as the supernatural power of nature. The union between the modern and the ancient is present from the smallest details to the grand symbolic manifestations of gold. Inspired by medieval icon painting, gold brings light and hope into the material, even though the dominant subject is almost always nature: it is as silent as it is wondrous and powerful, from the smallest womb of leaves to the most spectacular, infinite view. The woods are dreamlike, where trees and plants become symbols and projections of the self; from the bark to a single leaf, every vein is the skin that tells the artist's story.

Today, she paints commissioned works and is an art teacher. She teaches adolescents how to express their inner selves through art, encouraging them to observe the surrounding world with ever-changing perspectives.
